Event was sold out and a great success, 140 attending – Speaker and session notes will posted in\u00a0 few weeks.

Less coding emphasis than earlier WordCamps, with more for general users, bloggers, schools, publishers and graphic designers. More case studies, \u2018how to\u2019 tips and general best practices talks. Tickets are only $25<\/strong> including lunch and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a long-time user, we’ll have something for you.<\/p>\n

A dozen hot topics at Auckland WordCamp, 2014<\/h3>\n

\"sessions\"<\/a>WordCamp sessions<\/a> this year will focus upon new traffic-generating ideas and tips for those bloggers or businesses struggling with the avalanche of new WP theme options, plugins, security, support issues etc. We’ll show off sites and applications that will amaze, as well as touch upon simple, innovative startup options for the non-profits, writers, schools and sports clubs.<\/p>\n

A big Year for WordPress in NZ<\/h2>\n

\"logo-2x\"<\/a>If you love WordPress or want to get involved with WordPress, this annual WordCamp educational event is the key one of 2014, with a dozen speakers involved. Following this, there are also our regular monthly WordPress User Group meetups.<\/a> This group has grown to over 250 members in just 12 months.<\/p>\n

\"wordpress\"<\/a>These group events provide great opportunities to learn more and interact with the local WordPress community. The meetup group also maintains it’s own website<\/a> where talks or ideas provided at each meetup are uploaded. Kevin Trye is both the WordCamp and Meetup organisor this year, assisted by Jason Kemp, who ran all the earlier Auckland-based WordCamps.<\/p>\n

\"matt\"<\/a>Our team also helped organise the visit to Auckland of WordPress co-founder and CEO, Matt Mullenweg on 18th June where Matt gave a riveting talk. Automattic, being the company that develops and maintains WordPress now have 250 people around the globe, including a representative here in New Zealand.
