Following this, there are also our regular monthly WordPress User Group meetups. This group has grown to over 250 members in just 12 months.

wordpressThese group events provide great opportunities to learn more and interact with the local WordPress community. The meetup group also maintains it’s own website where talks or ideas provided at each meetup are uploaded. Kevin Trye is both the WordCamp and Meetup organisor this year, assisted by Jason Kemp, who ran all the earlier Auckland-based WordCamps.

mattOur team also helped organise the visit to Auckland of WordPress co-founder and CEO, Matt Mullenweg on 18th June where Matt gave a riveting talk. Automattic, being the company that develops and maintains WordPress now have 250 people around the globe, including a representative here in New Zealand.
